The last meeting was held at the Hotel Indigo in Riverhead New York Friday June 9, 2023. Dr. Edgard El Chaar , clinical professor, researcher, author and most sought educator presented Current Trends in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. His presentation was greatly lauded by our membership. The EEDS is grateful to Dr. El Chaar and the Straumann Group for their sponsorship. Scott and Keith with the rest of the Straumann Team did a superb job helping to make this event a success. There were quite a few requests for Dr. El Chaar to return in the fall from our EEDS membership. We are working on it.

It was a great day with world class lectures from the best clinicians, researchers and authors in dentistry. Dr. Syngcuk Kim the father of endodontic microsurgery in dentistry had to catch a flight to Germany after his amazing presentation. Dr. Vic Grazina our resident orthodontist from East Hampton was off to Boston after a dynamic lecture on the latest in orthodontics with sleep and . We’re thankful they could fit us into their busy schedules. Dr. Jerry Cymerman gave a great presentation on traumatic pulp injuries and brought some of his PG endo students from Stony Brook. Amit Binderman demonstrated the latest in autologous bone grafts and Tim Ingrao gave us insight into endodontics with an endoscope. Corporate sponsorship was greatly appreciated. We had 65 attendees and 10 no shows. The no shows cost the society $$ because they RSVP-ed YAY but their attendance was a NAY. In the future we will need to rein that in somehow because that’s $$ we could have used for our next event. Having said that here’s a video from the event.
